Volcanoes National Park

Volcanoes National Park is Rwanda's premier wildlife destination and the most accessible gorilla trekking location in Africa β€” just 2–3 hours from Kigali International Airport. Set against the dramatic backdrop of the Virunga Mountains, the park protects a chain of ancient volcanoes cloaked in rainforest, bamboo, and heath zones. The park is home to habituated mountain gorilla families β€” each with a dedicated ranger team β€” as well as golden monkeys and rich birdlife. The landscape itself is spectacular: mist-covered peaks, ancient lava fields, and forests alive with sound at every turn.
