β¨ Luxury Retreats
Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tarangire and Arusha at an unhurried pace
Day 1
Your Tanzanian adventure begins at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by your private safari representative.
From the airport, enjoy a comfortable private transfer to Arusha, Tanzania's gateway to the country's northern safari circuit.
Rather than beginning the safari immediately, this first day is intentionally relaxed. Settle into your hand-picked lodge/hotel, enjoy a leisurely evening and allow yourself time to recover from your international journey.
Arusha is surrounded by beautiful landscapes and sits beneath the impressive Mount Meru, creating a wonderful introduction to Tanzania.
Overnight: Hand-picked lodge/hotel in Arusha
Meals: Dinner
Luxury safari is about more than wildlife. It is also about pace. Starting gently allows you to begin the adventure rested and ready rather than tired from travel.
Day 2
After breakfast, transfer to Arusha Airport for your scenic flight to Seronera in the heart of the Serengeti.
This flight is one of the defining moments of the journey. As you leave Arusha behind, the landscape gradually opens into vast African wilderness. From the air, the Serengeti's enormous plains appear almost endless.
Upon arrival at Seronera, meet your private safari guide and begin your first game drive.
The central Serengeti is famous for its abundant wildlife and excellent predator sightings. Depending on the season, you may encounter lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, cheetahs and possibly the elusive leopard.
Rather than rushing through the park, your guide will tailor the afternoon around wildlife activity and your interests before continuing to your accommodation.
Overnight: Hand-picked safari lodge/camp in Serengeti
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Instead of spending most of the day driving from Arusha to Serengeti, you fly directly into the wilderness and begin experiencing the park almost immediately.
Day 3
Today belongs entirely to the Serengeti.
Wake early for an optional sunrise game drive, when the African plains are at their most atmospheric and wildlife is often particularly active.
After your morning exploration, return to the lodge for a relaxed breakfast or lunch and some time to enjoy the surroundings. Later, head out again for an afternoon game drive.
With an entire day available, there is no need to rush from sighting to sighting. Your guide can spend more time following interesting wildlife behaviour, searching for predators or simply finding a beautiful location to stop and appreciate the landscape.
Depending on your travel season, you may encounter different stages of the Great Migration, from enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra to dramatic river crossings.
Return to your lodge for your second consecutive night in the Serengeti.
Overnight: Same hand-picked safari lodge/camp
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
This is one of the most important features of the itinerary. You don't simply visit the Serengeti. You stay in it. Two nights allow you to experience the wilderness at a more natural pace and avoid the feeling of constantly packing, driving and checking in.
Day 4
After breakfast, enjoy a final Serengeti game drive as you make your way towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The scenery changes dramatically as you travel towards the highlands, with open plains giving way to lush volcanic landscapes.
Along the way, experience a respectful cultural visit to a Maasai community. Learn about traditional Maasai life, livestock keeping, local customs and the community's relationship with the surrounding environment.
Continue towards your hand-picked lodge/hotel near Ngorongoro. The evening is yours to relax and enjoy the spectacular highland setting.
Overnight: Hand-picked lodge/hotel near Ngorongoro
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
This day brings together three very different sides of Tanzania: Wildlife. Landscape. Culture.
Day 5
Rise early and descend into the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater.
The crater is one of Africa's most extraordinary wildlife landscapes β a vast volcanic caldera surrounded by towering walls and supporting an incredible concentration of wildlife.
Your private safari guide will explore the crater floor with you, searching for lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebras, wildebeest and other species. With luck, you may also encounter the endangered black rhinoceros.
Take time to appreciate not only the wildlife but the extraordinary scenery surrounding you.
After your crater experience, continue towards Tarangire. Rather than squeezing another major safari into the same day, the journey is kept comfortable and you arrive at your hand-picked lodge/hotel with time to relax.
Overnight: Hand-picked lodge/hotel in/near Tarangire
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 6
Today is dedicated to discovering Tarangire National Park.
Tarangire offers a completely different safari experience from the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Its landscape is characterised by ancient baobab trees, woodland, open grassland and seasonal waterways.
The park is particularly famous for its elephants, which can often be seen in large family groups moving through the landscape.
Enjoy a relaxed game drive with your private guide, looking for elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, antelope and an impressive variety of birdlife.
Because you are not trying to catch an international flight today, there is no need to rush. After your safari, continue to Arusha and arrive at your hand-picked lodge/hotel for a relaxed final evening.
Overnight: Hand-picked lodge/hotel in Arusha
Meals: Breakfast & Dinner
Tarangire becomes an experience rather than a quick stop. You can take your time enjoying the elephants, landscapes and photography before leaving the safari circuit.
Day 7
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in Arusha.
Depending on your departure time, you may have the opportunity to enjoy some free time in Arusha or add an optional experience such as a local coffee experience, cultural visit or shopping for locally made crafts.
Later, transfer privately to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward flight.
Your Tanzanian safari ends here, carrying memories of the Serengeti plains, the Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire's elephants and the people who call this extraordinary part of Africa home.
Meals: Breakfast
A slower, more rewarding pace The itinerary is intentionally designed to avoid unnecessary rushing. You have two nights in the Serengeti, meaningful time in Ngorongoro, a proper Tarangire experience and a final night in Arusha.
Less time on the road Flying from Arusha to Seronera saves valuable time and allows you to begin your safari in the heart of the Serengeti.
Three iconic ecosystems Serengeti β endless plains, predators and the Great Migration Ngorongoro β volcanic scenery and extraordinary wildlife concentration Tarangire β elephants, baobabs and beautiful woodland landscapes
A perfect final night Ending in Arusha means your safari does not finish with a stressful airport transfer immediately after a game drive. Instead, you have an evening to relax, reflect on the journey and prepare comfortably for your onward flight.
Wildlife is wild No safari can guarantee specific animal sightings. Your guide will use experience, local knowledge and current conditions to give you the best possible opportunities.
The Great Migration is seasonal The location of the migration changes throughout the year. The experience will depend on your travel dates.
Safari roads can be bumpy Game drives take place on natural tracks and roads. Some sections can be rough, but this is part of the authentic safari experience.
Early mornings are rewarding Some of the most memorable wildlife encounters happen shortly after sunrise, so selected early starts are worthwhile.
Pack light for the Serengeti flight Domestic safari flights generally have luggage limitations. Soft-sided bags are recommended.
Dress in layers Temperatures can be cool in the early morning and warmer during the afternoon.
Bring binoculars They are invaluable for distant wildlife and birdwatching.
Respect wildlife and communities Follow your guide's instructions around animals and approach cultural experiences with respect and sensitivity.
Luxury is not simply about five-star accommodation. It is about space, time, privacy, comfort and exceptional service.
This itinerary gives you the time to enjoy your surroundings instead of constantly watching the clock.
You fly into the Serengeti rather than spending an entire day driving there. You stay two nights in the same Serengeti accommodation. You experience Ngorongoro without trying to combine too many activities. You explore Tarangire without immediately rushing to the airport. And you finish in Arusha, relaxed and ready for your next journey.
This is Tanzania at a slower pace β wild, elegant and deeply memorable.
Zanzibar β Continue from Tanzania's safari landscapes to the white-sand beaches and turquoise waters of Zanzibar.
Rwanda β Continue to Rwanda for mountain gorilla trekking, chimpanzee experiences and the beautiful landscapes of the Land of a Thousand Hills.
Kenya β Extend the journey north and combine Tanzania with Kenya's iconic Maasai Mara.
Seven days. Three extraordinary wilderness areas. Two nights in the Serengeti. One unforgettable Tanzania experience.
Come for the wildlife. Stay for the landscapes. Leave with memories that last a lifetime.
