Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is Uganda's smallest national park but one of its most dramatic — a volcanic landscape in the Virunga Mountains shared with Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The park protects part of the habitat range of both mountain gorillas and the endangered golden monkey. With fewer visitors than Bwindi or Rwanda's Volcanoes National Park, Mgahinga offers an exceptionally intimate and exclusive trekking experience. The park's dramatic volcanic backdrop — including three extinct volcanoes — creates one of the most scenic trekking settings in all of East Africa.
